Soha On Her Father Being A Stay-At-Home Dad

In an exclusive interview, Soha Ali Khan talked about how Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi held multiple titles, including that of being a stay-at-home dad. The interesting part is that Mansoor Ali Khan was a stay-at-home father even before many people knew what the term meant. Describing her experience growing up with her father, Soha said, “As kids, it was completely normal for me because you don’t compare your childhood with other children.” Khan also talked about how when she was born, he was a stay-at-home dad and did not have a source of income at that time, “He used to tell everybody he was a prince.” Soha revealed lightheartedly.

Soha Ali Khan further reminisced about her childhood, how Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi used to stay home while her mother, Sharmila Tagore, used to travel for filming. There was a time when Sharmila flew out to film  Mira Nair’s film, Mississippi Masala, with Denzel Washington for around 3 months, she recalled.

Soha also talked about how there was no taboo around Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi being a stay-at-home dad because everyone saw him as the ‘Tiger Pataudi.’ “He was a legendary cricketer, even lost an eye playing, he contributed a lot to this country, put it on the map,” Soha said while explaining  Mansoor’s decision to be a stay-at-home dad in his later years.
