While people anticipated the larger-than-life depiction of a dystopian society with great performances by Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan among several others, everyone got confused seeing Sobhita Dhulipala’s name in the opening credits. She might not have been one of the cameos, but Sobhita lent her voice to Deepika Padukone’s character in the Telugu version of Kalki 2898 AD!

The Made In Heaven actor has a deep connection with Kalki 2898 AD. Multiple reports had confirmed that Sobhita Dhulipala had dubbed Deepika Padukone’s character, Sumathi in the Telugu version of the Nag Ashwin directorial. And the opening credits backed all the reports! The actor recently took to Instagram to confirm the rumours for her fans by posting a story of the cue card that thanked Sobhita. She wrote “Sweetest” and tagged Nag Ashwin and the team of Kalki 2898 AD. FYI, Sobhita Dhulipala’s mother tongue is Telugu.

More On Deepika Padukone’s Character In Kalki 2898 AD
Kalki 2898 AD marks Deepika Padukone’s first Telugu venture. She plays the character of Sumathi aka SUM 80. According to the holy script of Mahabharata, Sumathi supposedly carries the 10th avatar of Vishnu which is Kalki, who is said to end the Kali Yuga and start a new era. But in the film, Supreme Yaskin, Kamal Haasan’s character set out to kill Kalki. At the same time, Amitabh Bachchan’s character Ashwatthama is set to protect this unborn child for good.
Kalki 2898 AD’s Box Office Success
The film had a phenomenal opening weekend as the film did a business of 85 crore INR on Sunday! The film earned approx 302 crore INR in its opening weekend in the country. If reports are to be believed, Kalki 2898 AD is all set to cross 500 crores worldwide!
