About Smriti Mandhana, Palash Muchhal’s Wedding
The wedding festivities began in Sangli with the sangeet and haldi function on Saturday, November 22. Clips of the bride and groom having a blast on the stage went viral all over social media. Smriti and Palas were all set to marry on Sunday, November 23, with the entirety of the Indian women’s cricket team present to cheer them. Groom’s sister Palak Muchhal was also there. But all went down when news of Mandhana’s father getting hospitalised as his health deteriorated at the venue came out in the afternoon.
Later in the evening, her manager, Tuhin Mishra, spoke to the media and said, “Mr Shrinivasa Mandana was having breakfast when his health deteriorated. We called for an ambulance and took him to the hospital. He is under observation.” This led to the wedding being postponed. After this, the groom’s family flew back from Sangli to get him admitted to a hospital in Mumbai’s Goregaon, where he was admitted due to stress and exhaustion. In a chat with HT, his mother confirmed that it was because he cried for 4 hours after the wedding was postponed.
