A medical emergency in the family has caused the wedding festivities of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal to abruptly halt. As per reports, Smriti’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, suffered a heart attack just hours before the scheduled wedding ceremony. The cricketer’s father was rushed to the hospital in the morning. Smriti Mandhana And Palash Muchhal’s Wedding Postponed As Mandhana’s Father Suffers Heart Attack
The incident took place at the Mandhana family’s farmhouse in Sangli, where preparations for the couple’s wedding were underway. Smriti Mandhana’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, has confirmed that her father was immediately taken to a hospital for treatment. Sources have reported that Srinivas Mandhana is now in a stable condition but remains under close medical observation.
Both Smriti and Palash’s families announced that the wedding has been postponed following the health scare. The wedding decorations and other arrangements are currently being dismantled at the venue, and a request for privacy has been made to focus on Srinivas Mandhana’s recovery.
Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal’s wedding ceremony was set to take place today, on November 23, 2025. Pictures of the couple’s mehendi and haldi ceremony had been going viral for the last couple of days, and fans looked forward to the couple’s union. Smriti’s teammates from the Indian women’s cricket team also attended the pre-wedding events and posed for pictures for the bride-to-be.
The couple made headlines earlier this month, too, after a video of Palash proposing to Smriti at a stadium surfaced online. The proposal video, which featured close family and friends, soon went viral.
