Many Bollywood celebs, along with fans, took to their Instagram to congratulate the team, and among them was filmmaker-singer Palash Muchhal, also Smriti Mandhana’s boyfriend. After overcoming Australia by five wickets in the semifinals, India will now meet South Africa in the final on Sunday. The Indian women’s squad delivered a record-breaking effort, chasing down a mammoth total of 339 runs – the most successful run chase in women’s ODI cricket. The match’s stars were Jemimah Rodrigues and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, who formed a key combination that enabled India to reach the mark with nine balls remaining. Smriti served as vice-captain.

Palash Muchhal took to his Instagram stories and shared a picture of Team India and wrote, “This part of my life right here…is called happiness.” Earlier this month, at an interaction held at the State Press Club, Palash Muchhal confirmed his marriage to Smriti. When asked about his relationship with Mandhana and their shared memories, the Indore-born music director hinted at her soon becoming part of his family and playfully remarked that he had just given reporters their headline. He also extended his best wishes to Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana, expressing his hope for the team’s continued success.
