Among many, Malayalam singer Pavithra Menon had also made a video in which she reacted to the trailer and mocked Janhvi’s caricaturist accent. What Happened?
Malayalam singer Pavithra Menon has posted a video on Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra starrer Param Sundari. Pavithra pointed out some flaws with Janhvi Kapoor’s accent in the film’s trailer and questioned the caricaturist, and stereotypical representation of South Indian women in Bollywood films. She also raised concern on a real Malayali woman not being featured in such films.
However, Pavithra Menon later revealed that her video was deleted from Instagram after a copyright strike. She also shared the screenshot of the message received from the social media platform. In the note, the platform wrote that her video had received a copyright from a third party. Pavithra Menon wrote a strong caption in the post that read, “Happy Independence Day To All Who Has A Voice”. Many of her followers strongly reacted to this post, and condemned the move. However, many more on social media have criticised Janhvi Kapoor’s accent in the film’s trailer. Param Sundari is directed by Tushar Jalota, and the film is scheduled to release on August 29, 2025.
