In the last few days, many singers have been held accountable for some allegedly problematic lyrics that they have used in their compositions. Even singer and music composer Guru Randhawa’s name has been added to the list after he was summoned by a court over controversial lyrics in his song. Guru Randhawa Summoned Over Controversial Lyrics
Guru Randhawa is a known singer who has a huge fanbase. The singer has made some very popular tracks; however, he has now found himself in a new controversy over some questionable lyrics in his song. The singer was summoned for singing a line, ”Jamia nu gudti ch mildi afeem hai” which roughly means that newborns are fed drugs in their cradle. The line has not been received well, and the singer has been summoned by the Samrala court. Guru Randhawa has been asked to present himself before the court on September 2.
For the unversed, Guru Randhawa started his music career in 2012. Since then, the singer has given out many single albums like ‘Lahore,’ ‘High Rated Gabru,’ and ‘Slowly Slowly’. The singer has also produced songs for Bollywood films like Hindi Medium and many of his songs also saw a remake in some films.
As of now, Guru Randhawa or his team has not put out any official statement in response to the court summon.
