Badshah Issues Apology To NCW Over Tateeree Song Controversy, Promises A Song On Women Empowerment!

Many singers and artists have been recently pulled up for questionable and s*xist lyrics in their songs. Singer and rapper Badshah also found himself in a similar controversy for his Haryanvi song Tateeree. The singer received severe backlash for hurting women’s dignity, and the National Commission for Women (NCW) urgently took matters into its hands. Badshah Appears Before NCW

As per the news reports, singer and rapper Badshah appeared before the National Commission for Women on Tuesday, April 7. Along with the singer, directors Joban Sandhu and Mahavir Singh, along with producer Hiten, were also in attendance. NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar presided over the hearing. Everyone present before the committee submitted an apology letter to the NCW and acknowledged the damage that their song had done to society. They also assured the NCW not to repeat the same mistake in future. Badshah also pledged towards working for women’s empowerment, and he has also guaranteed a song on the same within four months.

What Did NCW Say?

The National Commission for Women had raised concerns regarding the Tateeree song. The chairperson noted that the song hurt the dignity of women, and such concerning songs cannot be neglected as they bring serious harm.

Recently, the NCW also gave a final chance to Nora Fatehi to appear before the bench over the Sarke Chunar song row. The song’s objectionable lyrics was slammed on social media by many. The song also featured Sanjay Dutt. It is from the Kannada film KD: The Devil, directed by Prem. The director and lyricist appeared before the NCW and apologised for it.
