Diljit Dosanjh Comes Forward To Help Punjab Amid Massive Floods, Adopts 10 Villages

Punjab is going through a tough time. Many villages have been badly affected by the heavy floods that hit the state on August 1. As per the news reports, around 29 people have also lost their lives, and many people’s houses and lives have been affected. Amid this intense crisis, many Punjabi artists have come to the forefront to help the people of their state, and Diljit Dosanjh has adopted 10 villages as per the official announcement by his team. Diljit Dosanjh Adopts 10 Villages
Punjab is in a big crisis after massive floods hit the state due to excessive rains. The rivers Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi overflowed causing disruption in many villages surrounding them. Many villages have drowned in this flood and many people have lost their houses and livelihoods. Actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh’s team has put out an official statement in which they have revealed that the artist has adopted 10 villages across Gurdaspur and Amritsar, in collaboration with many NGOs and local administration.
Through this initiative, the team plans to work in three steps. Firstly, the villages would be provided immediate relief in terms of solar lights, tarpauline and medicines. The team also plans to assess the on-ground situation of these villages and accordingly start with the rehabilitation process. For the longer term plans, the team has decided to start rebuilding homes, livelihoods and other important structures in association with the NGOs and the local administration.
