Stree 2 director Amar Kaushik seems to have made amends for his viral chudail comment on Shraddha Kapoor at a recent event.
Amar Kaushik’s recent comment about Shraddha Kapoor sparked a bit of a stir. In an interview, Amar Kaushik, the director, shared a story about how producer Dinesh Vijan once jokingly said that Shraddha Kapoor’s laugh sounded like a “chudail”. Interestingly, this influenced her casting in the successful horror-comedy film series, Stree. However, the fans of the actor didn’t hold back and expressed displeasure over the comment.
Well, the director seems to have made amends for his comment at a recent event. Maddock Films held a grand bash in Mumbai to mark its 20th anniversary, and both Shraddha and Amar were present at the event. While posing for the photographers, Shraddha playfully teased Amar about his recent remarks. She stated that he had been cracking a lot of jokes lately. Amar further added that he was feeling scared, especially of Shraddha’s fans. The light-hearted exchange between Shraddha and Amar at the Maddock Films celebration put an end to any speculation of tension between them.
Stree, upon its release, resonated deeply with audiences. The film’s fresh storyline, memorable characters, and witty dialogues quickly made it a fan favourite. It also led to strong box office numbers. This appreciation and commercial success paved the way for a sequel, Stree 2, which carried the momentum. Additionally, Stree 3 will be released in 2027.
