Five years later, on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, the actor-producer has finally provided an update on the film. The producer shared an image of the film’s screenplay with the caption, “Makar Sankranti and finally…” The script was titled Nagin: An Epic Tale of Love and Sacrifice. It also stated, “Created and developed by Saffron Magicworks.”

However, the producer didn’t tag Shraddha Kapoor in his Instagram story. But in a previous interview with India Today, Nikhil revealed that it took them around three years to re-write the script three times and that they were finally ready. Shraddha Kapoor has been the first choice for the role since the beginning. The producer said that she was sold after he first approached her.
