Shin Go Eun also shared an official statement on the same,

Hello, this is Shin Go Eun. I debated a lot for a long time whether to write this message. I’m writing this brief letter because many people are curious and I think this is a part of my life that I need to let people know about.

It has been almost half a year since we ended our three years of married life and went our separate ways. Our personalities and values were very different, and though we made a lot of effort, it didn’t work out. We have decided that each of us will work harder and do our best separately, in our respective positions. I feel very apologetic to have to convey this kind of news to the people who gave us their interest and blessings. Please be careful not to catch a cold in this fluctuating weather, and I hope you have a wonderful day!”
