Shamita Shetty and Raqesh Bapat, two actors, created a buzz when they fell in love within the Bigg Boss OTT house in 2021. The chemistry between them soon turned into a relationship that stayed even once the show was over. Nevertheless, the two parted ways in 2022 after dating each other for nearly a year. Now, Shamita has shared candidly the reasons why the relationship may never have come to fruition in the real world.
Shamita Shetty On Dating Raqesh Bapat
Talking to Pinkvilla recently, Shamita stated that the atmosphere within Bigg Boss automatically encourages contestants to bond closely. She added that when individuals are confined for weeks, they will obviously seek comfort, help, and friendship. That is what brought her and Raqesh together.
But she also confessed that if they had not met on the reality show, they would never have gone out. In Shamita’s opinion, the two are very different people, and their relationship worked only because of the special, stressful environment of the Bigg Boss house. For her, that period is now well behind her.
Shamita also looked back on her own life as a single woman. She did admit that loneliness is something that she does experience, but she is not going to sacrifice her own peace of mind just to have someone. She said that people often get into relationships to get out of loneliness, but for her, learning how to be happy by herself was a big step.
Talking about what she is looking for in a partner, Shamita said that relationships can be psychologically taxing, and she will only settle down if she finds someone who respects her on a deeper level. Till then, she is happy to be concentrating on herself and her career.

Shamita debuted in Bollywood with Mohabbatein (2000) and then performed in films such as Agnipankh, Wajahh: A Reason to Kill, and Cash. Although her career in films failed to launch as it should have, she has been seen in the limelight via reality shows and guest appearances.
