The ongoing protest in India linked to the Cockroach Janata Party has garnered massive attention from youth and famous personalities, with many backing the same online. Shabana Azmi also happened to be one of the stars who supported the moment by physically going on the field to join the protest. However, during the ‘Chalo Sansad’ protest, the actress reportedly faced a health issue, which she said was triggered by tear gas.
Shabana Azmi Reveals Facing Asthma Attack
While conversing with The Indian Express, Shabana Azmi stated that she is an asthmatic and had an attack because of the tear gas. She revealed that she had her pump with her, adding that she was fine now. The veteran actor stated that she was later respectfully escorted to a nearby building after falling sick. The Arth star shared that after she recovered, she returned to the ground to interact with the students who had been lathi-charged during the said protest. Shabana Azmi mentioned that their spirit was “unprecedented” and said, “Salaam to all of them.”
Celebrities Who Are Supporting The Protest
The protest linked to the Cockroach Janata Party saw a huge amount of crowd gather, where they demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination. Apart from Shabana Azmi, other celebrities, including Swara Bhaskar, Prakash Raj, and Poonam Pandey, have reportedly joined the youth physically on the ground during the protest. Additionally, celebrities including Zeenat Aman, Sahiba Bali, Sonakshi Sinha, Abhay Deol, and more have shown their support via social media! Now, people are calling out celebrities who are choosing not to speak about the said movement on Instagram. Recently Katrina Kaif’s fan page admin, Katholic_fans, which has around 70 thousand followers, announced that they were shutting it down. They reportedly stated that she didn’t have a “spine” to speak against the government and that she “betrayed” fans even after they supported her at her lowest. The admin further revealed that they were unfollowing her and closing the fan page, adding that she didn’t “deserve” it.
