On July 13, SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu jumped on a Weverse live stream to meet up with fans. While discussing his packed schedule and shrugging off the speculation of a potential unit debut with fellow member, S.Coups. Mingyu also talked about something exciting regarding his bestie, BTS Jungkook.
Browsing through a fan’s request for a Thunder dance challenge with the BTS idol, Mingyu replied, “Jungkook Thunder challenge? Jungkook isn’t in South Korea… likely. If we have the opportunity to encounter each other, we’ll surely record it. We’re not in a hurry.”
Fans will not forget their legendary dance challenge to SEVENTEEN’s ‘Super’, where the two not only took over the internet but also acted out a hilarious skit with Mingyu as the excessively respectful junior to Jungkook’s senior. They’ve also been hyping each other’s solo tracks, with Mingyu dancing to ‘SEVEN’ and ‘3D’, and Jungkook hyping up SEVENTEEN’s comeback songs in return.
The two are among the popular 97-liner friend group, which comprises idols from such groups as GOT7’s Yugyeom and BamBam, ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo, and NCT’s Jaehyun. Even during Jungkook’s time in the military, the group managed to keep in touch. But since his military discharge, fans have been eagerly anticipating the reunion content, and it seems that it may be on the way soon too!
