BTS’ Gwanghwamun Comeback Show: Seoul Police Promises Strict Action For Potential Large-Scale Threats
On Friday, March 13, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency said it would be sure to apprehend individuals or groups behind potential terror-related threats aimed at the BTS concert. The show, set to take place at Seoul’s historic Gwanghwamun Square, will bring thousands of ARMYs (BTS fans) to the capital city of Korea.
Confirming police commandos would be deployed in the area on the day, the police are being very careful of the scale of the concert and the number of people gathering. They are concerned about terror threats, too, considering the war currently happening in the Middle East.
Anyone found to cause disorder at the show by threats, thereby chipping away at police resources, would be busted after being seriously trailed. Proper investigations would be opened when detained, the police department told Korean media on March 13.
Additionally, it assured residents and concert-goers of appropriate security measures. There would be metal detectors at all entrances of the concert venue. Barricades are also being put in place. They wish to avoid untoward incidents such as acts of terror or even vehicular accidents. As a result, the officials have requested that concert attendees try to avoid carrying unnecessary things on their persons. This would ensure that security checks are quicker and more efficient.
The BTS comeback concert for their to-be-released album, ‘ARIRANG’, will take place on March 21, 2026. While the show itself has a seating capacity of about 22,000, the police expect 10 times the crowd to be present around the area. Their estimate for the total number of people is closer to 260,000.
