This revelation came during her live session on social media. She then revealed a funny question one of her followers asked in relation to shaving her upper lip. Selena Gomez Reveals Having Melasma
Recently, Selena Gomez had an interesting chat with fans during her live session on Instagram. The songstress revealed the five o’clock shade on her upper lip, which is called as melasma. She then took to her Instagram story and stated that a fan made her laugh when they asked her how she shaves her moustache. Selena revealed that she totally got what the fan asked and stated that she had melasma and a pimple. The Only Murders In The Building actress stated that she does look after it but yes, it exists. She revealed getting it from the sun and urged her followers to use sunscreen. Having said that, Selena clarified that it wasn’t a moustache on her upper lip.
“Someone just made me laugh because they asked me how I remove my ‘mustache’ and I get it, guys [laughs] actually, I have melasma because of the sun, and you obviously need to be careful and use sunscreen. It’s not a mustache, they’re little sunspots.”

What Is Melasma? Do You Need To Consult A Dermat?
Melasma is a skin condition that is more common than you think. People who have it usually get grey or brown patches on the forehead, cheeks, nose, upper-lip or/and chin. This condition happens because of the overproduction of cells that are responsible for making the colour of one’s skin, according to the Cleveland Clinic. People with medium to darker skin tones are more prone to melasma.
It can reportedly happen because of hormonal shifts caused by birth control pills, pregnancy or thyroid issues. Additionally, stress, sun exposure and more can lead to melasma.
