56-year-old rapper and media mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was sentenced in October to 50 months behind bars after he was convicted in July on two counts of facilitating transportation related to pr*stitution. His initial release date was May 8, 2028, but according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ inmate records, it has now been pushed to June 4, 2028. Read on to know more.
Sean Diddy Combs’ Prison Sentence Extended
Although officials did not confirm the cause of the change, multiple reports suggest that the delay is related to alleged disciplinary issues. According to TMZ, Combs was reportedly caught consuming homemade alcohol inside New Jersey’s Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Fort Dix just days after arriving at the facility. The concoction was made by fermenting a mix of Fanta soda, sugar, and apples for two weeks.
Sean “Diddy” Combs had been considered for a transfer to another unit, but he was apparently allowed to stay where he was. His spokesperson, however, denied the allegations, calling the reports “false and reckless.” “Mr Combs has not violated any prison rules. His sobriety and self-discipline are priorities, and he is taking them seriously,” they said.
The spokesperson further urged the public to “grant him the privacy to focus on personal growth and peace.”
Just days later, CBS News reported that Combs participated in a prohibited three-way phone call from prison. Inmates are not allowed to confer with multiple people during a call. Yet, Combs’ representative clarified that the call was “initiated by an attorney” and was therefore “protected by attorney-client privilege.”
Currently, Sean “Diddy” is reportedly in a drug treatment program and works in the prison’s chapel library.

Combs, arrested in September 2024, was convicted on pr*stitution-related charges earlier this year and acquitted of separate s*x trafficking and racketeering charges. His lawyers have since announced plans to appeal his conviction, claiming the judge’s ruling was “biased and coercive.”
