The latest update on music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ trial is that his legal team has once again asked the presiding judge to declare a mistrial. Diddy’s lawyers have made this request after a witness, Bryana ‘Bana’ Bongolan, testified against him in court. In her testimony, Bryana accused Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs of dangling her off a 17-story balcony. The rapper’s legal team, however, say that her story and testimony are not accurate.
Why Did Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Legal Team File For A Mistrial
This particular motion comes after Bryana testified against Sean Combs in June in his ongoing s*x trafficking trial. In her statement, she told the court that Diddy allegedly lifted her over a balcony railing while verbally abusing her. Bongolan said that she was held dangling over the balcony railing for about 15 seconds by Diddy, and she faced both physical injuries and mental trauma because of the incident.
Bongolan is a graphic designer who was friends with Diddy’s ex, and a key witness in the trial, Cassie Ventura. Cassie had also talked about the balcony incident in her testimony. Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ lawyers, however, argue that Cassie did not actually witness the alleged incident with Bryana and Diddy happening. As per TMZ, his team submitted a text message from her and one of Diddy’s employees, Kristina Khorram. The text message that Cassie had sent her read, “I just found out some crazy s***.” Hence, the rapper’s legal team says Cassie was not present at the scene where the confrontation took place.
What Did His Team Say About Bryana Bongolan
Diddy’s lawyers also argue that there are pictures of Bryana taken on the day she says the alleged incident took place. Bryana was in Los Angeles at that time while Diddy was somewhere else. They claim that the timeline does not align with Bryana’s testimony, and also say that the prosecution knowingly allowed a false testimony to be given in the courtroom.

Diddy’s lawyer, Nicole Westmoreland, pointed out inconsistencies in Bryana’s testimony. She pointed out that Bongolan had testified that she was smoking cannabis during the incident, but in her earlier lawsuit, she said she was smoking a cigarette. Bryana had previously sued Diddy in 2023. Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs had denied all the allegations through his lawyer, and his team termed the lawsuit as offensive and outrageous. This is the second time that Diddy’s legal team has requested a mistrial; the first one was towards Kid Cudi’s testimony, but was denied. Judge Arun Subramanian has not ruled on the mistrial request yet.
P Diddy, whose real name is Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, is presently on trial for sex trafficking. The rapper has pleaded not guilty to charges of prostitution, racketeering conspiracy, and sex trafficking. The trial is still going on, having begun on May 12.
