A new development in Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ trial has been made. The rapper’s legal team has filed a second motion for mistrial. They are alleging that the government knew that Cassie Ventura and Bryana Bongolan’s testimony against Diddy was false. In a letter to District Judge Arun Subramanian, the defence attorneys had previously alleged “prosecutorial misconduct” against his ruling on June 10.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Legal Team Alleges That Cassie Ventura And Bryana Bongolan’s Testimonies Are False
The letter obtained by PEOPLE claims that Diddy’s team said “the government has presented testimony that it knew or should have known was materially false related to its allegation that Mr. Combs dangled Bryana Bongolan from the balcony of Casandra “Cassie” Ventura’s apartment in September 2016.”
Bryana Bongolan is a graphic designer who used to work with Diddy, testified against him in court. She alleged that Diddy had dangled her from the balcony of a 17-story building. The two reportedly had an argument on Cassie Ventura’s balcony, which led to him cornering her at the balcony railing.
Cassie Ventura had also testified about the same incident and claimed that she witnessed Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs fangirling Bryana off the balcony. Diddy’s attorneys claim that there is a possibility that Cassie Ventura’s testimony against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. They further cited text messages from Cassie that indicated that she was not present at the scene and had found out about it later.
They also further claim that the photos of injuries presented by Bryana Bongolan’s side were taken in Los Angeles on September 26, 2016. “The incident, as alleged, is disturbing and powerful evidence, and the government has used it to depict Mr. Combs in an extremely negative light, as an angry and dangerous man who terrified Ms. Ventura and her friends,” argued Diddy’s defence team.
Combs’ attorneys wrote that the prosecution knew “or should have known that this testimony was perjured,” and that the government knew that Combs was in New York City between Sept. 24 to Sept. 29 of that year.
