Who isn’t waiting for the next Imtiaz Ali film? And well, we will soon get one. The announcement of his next film on the popular love story Heer Ranjha was made on Valentine’s Day. The film will be backed by Ektaa Kapoor and directed by Sajid Ali. After reports about the lead actor, now there are reports that suggest Sara Arjun may play the female lead in the film. Sara Arjun To Play Lead In Imitaz Ali’s Next?
Sara Arjun won hearts with her performance in the Aditya Dhar film Dhurandhar starring Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna. Now, as per a Mid-Day report, the actor could be seen next in Imtiaz Ali’s film, Heer Ranjha based on the Punjabi folklore of the same name. The makers promise a love story like the very popular film Laila Majnu which featured Avinash Tiwary and Tritpii Dimir. The makers are looking for a fresh face to play the role of Heer in the film, and with her nuanced performance in Dhurandhar, she looks a like a strong contender for this role. However, there are no official confirmation on this as of now.
For the unversed, there were reports that suggest Rohit Saraf was being considered to play the male lead in Sajid Ali’s directorial. After the announcement, the audience is expecting another heart-wrenching love story from the makers, and the hopes are high.
