Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar was one of highest-grossing films in 2025. The film received a lot of praise from the audience for its direction, storytelling, performances and songs. However, for one thing that it was criticised for was the age-gap between Ranveer Singh and Sara Arjun’s characters. Recently, even Sara Arjun addressed the backlash and said that it was the need of the script. Read here for more about it.
What Did Sara Arjun Say?
Sara Arjun made her Bollywood debut with Dhurandhar and the audience loved her on-screen presence. However, her and Ranveer Singh’s age-difference got a lot of backlash on social media, and in an interview with NDTV, she addressed this criticism. Sara Arjun said that she was away from social media ahead of the film’s release and therefore was not aware of all the debates and dialogues that were happening on the internet. The actor further added that she had a lot of respect for the opinions floating around, but also stated that she believed in the concept of ‘live and let live’. According to Sara Arjun, the opinions did not affect her thinking and that she knew about the story. The actor also said that the casting was justified and was according to the demands of the script.
Sara Arjun also praised Ranveer Singh as an actor and how he has raised the bar high. For the unversed, Dhurandhar also stars Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal in lead roles.
Dhurandhar will also have a second part, and the film is slated to release on March 19, 2026. We are all excited for the same.
