Reflecting on her reaction, Sara Ali Khan admitted that her immediate response was to shut down mentally. “I don’t remember much, it was a freeze impulse. I didn’t know what was happening. We were lucky that it wasn’t critical,” she said. She described the harrowing 15-20 minutes from the moment she received the news to the point where she got updates from the hospital as feeling like an eternity. However, she was quickly relieved when she saw her father smiling after the ordeal.
Saif’s resilience in the face of danger is something Sara deeply admires. “That’s just who he is,” she said. “With four kids, including two little ones, he had to show that he was okay. He has always been a fighter, and I look up to him for never giving up.” She also highlighted how actors often have to put on a brave face despite their personal struggles, something her father demonstrated even in such a dire situation.
Speaking about how Saif handles pressure, Sara acknowledged that her father is much calmer than most people in moments of crisis. “He is much better than others in panic situations. I, on the other hand, panic first, freeze, and cry,” she admitted.
