Exclusive: Sanjeeda Shaikh Doesn’t Like Being Called A Single Mother: “It’s No Different…”

Actress Sanjeeda Shaikh recently won praise and applause for her acting chops in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s debut show–Heeramandi. The actress returned to the screen and won appreciation for the same. But on the personal front, Sheikh has been through a few turbulent changes including separation from husband Aamir Ali and parenting her daughter Ayra Ali.

Speaking to Hauterrfly’s The Male Feminist, the actress confessed not liking the term–”Single Mother.” She said–”What is a single mother? I am a mother. I tell everyone that a mother is a mother, nothing else matters. My responsibilities don’t lessen or add up. As a mother whatever is required for me to do remains the same, even as a single mother. And the strength you get from seeing your child can not be found anywhere else.”
