In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Sanjay Leela Bhansali opened up about how Alia Bhatt reacted to their film Inshallah being shelved. Sanjay was working on the film Inshallah with her, but then it suddenly got cancelled. In response, Alia Bhatt became really upset, cried, and even locked herself in a room. After a week, Sanjay Leela Bhansali called her and told her she would be playing Gangubai.

To which she responded that she was supposed to be in Los Angeles for Inshallah, but now she’s in Kamathipura. “How do I do it? I don’t know this character” Alia Bhatt added. To which, Sanjay Leela Bhansali asked her if she knew him and trusted him. If so, Sanjay sees the strong woman inside Alia and knows well enough to help her bring that out because he can see her strength and how passionate Alia Bhatt is. “I have understood your personality” added Sanjay Leela Bhansali. For the unversed, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali was all set to reunite with Salman Khan with Inshallah however, it got shelved due to creative differences.
