Sandeep Reddy Vanga Thinks Only “15-20 Jokers” Find His Films Misogynistic. Sir, Delulu Is Not The Solulu!
Sir, reality mein waapis aao!

The movie culture in India is quite strong, and so is the influence. Also, with so much content to consume, people have developed forming opinions about a film. Ranbir Kapoor’s latest release Animal directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga was bashed for being an overdose of misogyny through the character of Ranvijay. However, Reddy has always tried to justify the highly problematic sides of his films when it comes to women. During a recent interview, Vanga put forth his opinions and people who called his films like Animal and Kabir Singh misogynistic and termed them “Jokers”.

What Did Sandeep Reddy Vanga Say?
During an interview, Sandeep Reddy Vanga addressed the opinions about his films being called misogynistic and problematic. The Animal director first clarified that the meaning of misogyny is disrespecting women, and disagreed with everyone who used this term for his films like Kabir Singh and others. During the interview with Galatta Plus, Sandeep Reddy Vanga also went on to criticise people who bashed his movie for being misogynistic and said only “15-20 Jokers” feel that way about his film. Reddy strongly feels that people have become “too toxic” when it comes to talking about films and discussing them.

Well, it is just not 15-20 people who feel this way about his film. A major chunk of women do. No woman should or would want a relationship portrayed in Kabir Singh or a man as obsessed as him. Movies such as Kabir Singh and Animal have glorified a man’s toxic behaviour toward their partner, and it’s a fact that none of us can unsee. However, Sandeep Reddy Vanga does not seem to accept it. Reddy’s movies have scenes like Kabir Singh slapping Preeti in the middle of the road while she is trying to make him understand, or Ranvijay proposing to Geetanjali with a compliment for her pelvis can never be justified for not being misogynistic. Some realities do not change even if you turn a blind eye to it, and the Animal director should know it by now.
