The moment The Ba***ds Of Bollywood show, directed by Aryan Khan, dropped and people couldn’t help but talk about a scene that included an officer’s raid at a Bollywood party. And it did not sit well with the former NCB officer Sameer Wankhede, who has had a history with Aryan! He went on to file a defamation case against the show. The accused defended themselves and the project, calling it a situational satire that does not depict or name the plaintiff. Now, Wankhede hit back with a rejoinder that has some serious claims that you need to know about.
Sameer Wankhede Files A Rejoinder
According to several reports, Sameer Wankhede had claimed in his petition that a character from The Ba***ds Of Bollwyood was inspired by him and was depicted in a negative light. He alleged that the character looked and spoke like him, which also included his trademark phrase “Satyamev Jayate.” Wankhede called that scene a “premeditated, targeted campaign” that attempted to take a jab at his reputation.
In his rejoinder, the former NCB officer claimed that the said show is not satirical in nature but a “calculated hit job” aimed at settling personal scores. The plaintiff also mentioned that the accused cannot “hide behind the convenient veil of satire or artistic expression to justify a malicious act.”
The defendants claimed that the former NCB officer attempted to block the artistic expression. They also mentioned that removing that controversial scene would hamper the narrative flow of the series. The Delhi High Court asked the involved people to file written submissions on Thursday. As far as the next hearing goes, it will occur in front of Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav on November 10.
