Aryan Khan’s NCB scene in his show, The Ba***ds of Bollywood, shocked everyone, reminding them of the real-life controversy. But now, IRS officer Sameer Wankhede has moved the Delhi HC, accusing Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan of defaming him in their Red Chillies-produced show. The plea also mentions the OTT giant Netflix, among others. He called the filmmaker’s debut ‘false, malicious, and defamatory’.

Sameer Wankhede claimed that The Ba***ds Of Bollywood had a misleading and negative portrayal of the anti-drug enforcement agencies. He also mentioned that it ‘eroded’ public confidence in law enforcement institutions. The officer claimed that the series was purposely executed with the intent to harm his reputation in a prejudicial manner.

“Furthermore, the series, inter alia, depicts a character making an obscene gesture, specifically, showing a middle finger after the character recites the slogan ‘Satyamev Jayate,’ which is part of the National Emblem,” Wankhede’s statement read. This act is a major and serious breach of the provisions of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971, which has legal repercussions under the law.

Sameer has demanded amages costing up to Rs 2 Crores to be donated to the Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital for he treatment of cancer patients. There was a scene in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut that had netizens convinced that the superstar’s son had subtly mocked ex-Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer Sameer Wankhede, the man who famously detained him during the 2021 drug case inquiry.

In 2021, Aryan Khan was detained aboard a cruise ship for allegedly having and ingesting narcotics. However, the case took a dramatic turn when the CBI charged Wankhede with attempting to extort Rs 25 crore from the Khan family in exchange for favourable treatment for Aryan.
