From Flower Allergy To Rabbit Bite, Samantha Ruth Prabhu Reveals Crazy Stories From Shaakuntalam’s Sets!

Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s upcoming film Shaakuntalam is based on the epic play written by Kalidasa. This mythological drama film tells the story of Shakuntala and her love story with King Dushyanta. The trailer of the film itself is very grand, hinting that the audience will get to experience a larger-than-life film on the silver screen. The costumes and the set look breathtaking in the trailer. But it was not an easy process to shoot an epic period drama of this stature. Taking to her Instagram, Samantha Ruth Prabhu has shared a video of her revealing some crazy things that she experienced while filming for Shaakuntalam.

Samantha suffered from a flower allergy

Talking about how she had to wear floral jewellery in the film, and how it did not suit her, Samantha reveals that the floral band left a print on her arm. She also said that it did not go away for six months. She said that no one was able to fix her flower allergy which in the end, went away on its own.

Got bit by a rabbit on set

“Rabbits are not so cute apparently,” says Samatha as she was bitten by one on the sets of Shaakuntlam.

Had to wear lehengas weighing 30 kg for a song

Talking about the heavy costumes she has worn in the film, Samantha revealed Neeta Lulla designed the dresses keeping the dance sequences in mind. And the light ones were kept for dance sequences but due to some reason she could wear the lighter lehengas for the song sequence and ended up wearing the 30 kg heavy ones while dancing.

Heavy lehengas twirled her out of the frame

Samantha also revealed that she had to twirl wearing the heavy lehengas and she ended up going off the frame due to their weight. The dance master also scolded her to be in the frame but she told him that the lehenga is pushing her out, and they had to do several retakes to get the shot right.
