A film festival was held in honour of Raj Kapoor ‘s 100th birthday! From Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt to Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, everyone made a stylish entry on the red carpet. However, one particular clip has garnered immense attention on the internet! While posing for the paparazzi, Kareena Kapoor kneeled down, and later Saif Ali Khan helped her get back up. The internet went crazy over his actions and started praising him. It was indeed a sweet gesture, but somehow it raises a question like, Why are these simple acts being celebrated so much?

Internet Praises Bollywood Stars For Performing Basic Acts of Kindness

A video clip of Saif helping his wife, Kareena Kapoor, stand up from a low-seated position went viral. Social media was flooded with comments lauding Saif for his “gentlemanly behavior” and his “chivalry.” Many praised him for being a “true gentleman” and a “supportive husband.” This small act of kindness caught the attention of many online, and people couldn’t stop praising Saif for being a caring husband. On the other hand, Babil Khan also made headlines when he was spotted standing in front of a woman posing for a photo. Instead of trying to steal the spotlight, he chose to be considerate and respectful. Well, the internet quickly recognised this behaviour and called Babil a true gentleman. People applauded him for understanding the importance of respecting personal space and giving others the chance to shine.

While these acts of kindness are undoubtedly commendable, the overwhelming praise they received has sparked a debate. Many argue that these are basic acts of courtesy and respect that should be expected from everyone, regardless of their celebrity status. For instance, once Tillotama Shome wrote, “Remember that annoying trend of heaping high praise for actors who came to work on time? Now, we are being praised for repeating the same outfit more than once. Both are expected norms and not a sign of incredible greatness or sustainability.” It raises a question on why such simple acts are being hailed as extraordinary and why men are being praised for simply being decent human beings, especially celebrities. However, it is also important to note that in this generation where respect and kindness can sometimes feel rare, even the smallest gestures can stand out.
