Unlike Most Celebs, Saif Ali Khan Doesn’t Want To Dance At Billionaire Weddings. Know The Hilarious Reason Here!

Star-studded billionaire weddings always make headlines with many high-octane performances from Bollywood stars. Recently, many stars like Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, and more performed at Netra Mantena’s wedding in Udaipur. However, during a recent chat, Saif Ali Khan revealed that he is not okay with dancing at weddings and also recalled a humiliating incident. Read to know more here.

What Saif Ali Khan Said

During a chat with The Hollywood Reporter India, Saif Ali Khan said, “I was dancing at a wedding once in Bombay and my aunt, my father’s sister, who is quite a regal lady, came backstage and said, ‘Don’t tell me you are dancing at this wedding.’” He said that if one sees themselves as an entertainer and has no connection or an aunt to humiliate them, then they must do it.  Khan said that the discomfort came from blurred boundaries between being a guest and a performer. As per him, the context mattered, and while some stages and large-scale events felt celebratory and respectful, others might feel intrusive. He believed that the platform must treat actors like stars and not place them uncomfortably close to the guests.

Interestingly, Saif stated that his comfort level shifts when such events take place abroad. He recalls singing at a wedding in Portugal, which was held in a lovely villa complete with a stage. In contrast, he believes that performing at certain local weddings, especially in more prominent venues, might be daunting. For him, it boils down to being cautious about how much of oneself an actor should reveal.

The actor also reflected on how constant visibility has altered how audiences view celebrities. He noted that frequent public appearances, film promotions, and staged photo opportunities have reduced the sense of mystery around actors, making them less special in the public eye. According to him, audiences are no longer surprised to see film stars everywhere. In contrast, he pointed to someone like Ajay Devgn, who maintains a more private presence, saying that this sense of distance makes him more intriguing on screen and in interviews, and that privacy has now become a valuable asset.
