Ever since Toxic and its first song, ‘Tabaahi’ were dropped, people have been consistently criticising the amount of intimate scenes it featured. Many have been calling out Kiara Advani for choosing to do such intimate scenes. Her professional and personal life is being attacked, where people are dragging her husband, Sidharth Malhotra as well. Amidst this, an old interview of Sai Pallavi started going viral where she has discussed her no-kiss policy. Soon, many started comparing her with Kiara!
Here’s What Happened!
A tweet on X has been going viral where a person mentioned Sai Pallavi’s old interview where she talked about her choice not to do films that require intimate scenes. The person who tweeted this mentioned that Kiara Advani should “learn” something from her. Responding to this tweet, many others shared tweets that were bizarre to say the least. A person penned, “That’s why they chose her for Maa Sita.” For the unversed, Sai Pallavi will be acting opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Ramayana. Another person called Sai Pallavi an inspiration for all girls, adding that if girls understood that, “nobody can touch them. If you have talent and believe in your talent, then you need not cut corners.” However, there was a section of netizens who questioned if the same comparison was applied to male actors as well. Additionally, many opposed the said take.
Kiara advani should learn something from her 🙏
Interviewer – Have directors ever approached you for a kissing scene?
Sai Pallavi – Yes, many have and many still do even though they know I don’t do kissing scenes
Interviewer: Why? Why do you have this policy?
Sai – If I have… pic.twitter.com/a8Ct1YVZP4

Here’s What We Think
We wonder when the day will come when women won’t be compared and pitted against each other for the choices that they make. Firstly, both are professional actresses who know what they are doing. If they are setting boundaries, people should simply accept that instead of praising one person while demeaning the other. Although Yash is in the film, who has equally performed the intimate scenes, he is not getting trolled as much as his Toxic co-star just because he is a man. We are not saying that he should be called out, but we are pointing out that it’s high time people respect every actor’s decision and not only the ones they personally agree with.
