According to Hindustan Times, a representative of team Kalki 2898 AD revealed that nothing has been finalised yet but the makers were looking at Sai Pallavi to replace Deepika Padukone and play her iconic role aka SUM-80. The representative reportedly stated that Sai Pallavi is being looked at as a perfect fit for the role. Having said that, the rumour pointing to the Ramayana actress being finalised by the Kalki 2898 AD director Nag Ashwin was brushed off. The representative stated that all those are just speculations because nothing has been finalised yet and they also asked to wait for the official confirmation. It’s worth noting that the team is yet to address the same speculation publicly.

Sai Pallavi’s Professional Front
It seems that Sai Pallavi truly has a busy schedule. She is gearing up for her Bollywood debut with Ek Din opposite Junaid Khan. The project will be released on May 1, 2026. Additionally, she will also star in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana with Ranbir Kapoor. As far as Deepika Padukone goes, after her exit from Kalki 2898 AD sequel and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit, she will be seen in Shah Rukh Khan’s King and AA22xA6 opposite Allu Arjun.
