Sahiba Bali Reveals On Receiving S*x Education
In the exclusive interview, content creator Sahiba Bali was asked about where she got her s*x and periods education from. To this, she replied, “When I was in the 6th standard, we all got a very basic lesson on s*x education from our school. Boys and girls were taken into separate rooms. I don’t know if they were also told about periods, but all the girls were taught about it and the basic female reproductive system.”
Talking about her mom she said, “My mom told me about periods before I got them. She made me sit and explained what was going to happen. So, that was sweet and easy. I didn’t have any trauma from that conversation. S*x was never talked about with my parents because I had learnt about it from my surroundings, books, etc.”
But Sahiba Bali’s grandmother was very forward during that time. She revealed, “My dadi was very interested in having those conversations. Whenever I used to go to her house, she would end up telling me one or two things about it.” Bali said that they used to share a bed when they slept and talked during that time.

She said, “Whenever we used to lie on our beds she would call my name and tell me things like how to behave with men and how they should behave with me. She taught me about good touch, bad touch and I don’t think even my parents know about this. It was something between me and my dadi.”
Sahiba Bali continued, “She used to talk to me about things like when was the appropriate time to be intimate with someone and how to be a woman and raise kids. She also taught me how important it is to be powerful, she said no matter who is in front of you, you are powerful. In fact, my mom told me that dadi wanted to introduce me to periods but mom said she also wanted a chance to tell me something.”
This conversation of her grandmother teaching about taboo subjects was so empowering and we believe all of this should be normalised!
