Rohit Shetty’s recent scare, wherein five rounds of bullets were fired outside his house, now has new updates. This shooting took place on February 1 at 12:43 am. Last, five individuals were arrested in response to this security threat and remanded to police custody till February 23. Now, there are more updates on the firing near the director’s residence. Rohit Shetty Firing Case Update: Weapon Found, 12 Arrested

Firing Outside Rohit Shetty’s House: As of February 19, 2026, the weapon used in the firing of five bullets has been recovered by the Mumbai Police. Later, it was sent to the laboratory for further testing and ballistic reports. Officials confirmed this update, adding that 12 people were arrested in relation to the case, including the main accused, Deepak Sharma, as per news reports.

Allegedly, the accused persons were acting on the advice of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Shubham Lonkar in particular. Also wanted in relation to the killing of NCP’s Baba Siddiqui, Lonkar said he was responsible for this shooting on social media. According to TNN, it was also reported that Lonkar brainwashed the accused with promises of earning money easily. Believing they were serving a larger purpose of being on a mission as “Hindu Sainiks,” reports suggest that the main shooter received INR 50,000. Supposedly, an advance for the shooting, they would receive more cash after achieving their objective.

A logistics unit based in Pune and a network from North India were the two groups that organised the shooting, according to investigating teams, as per TOI report. The Pune team received INR 60,000 while the one in Uttar Pradesh got INR 1 lakh for their efforts.

The arrested individuals were also identified. Their names are Sonu Thakur, Hrithik Yadav, Vinshu Kushwaha, Jatin Bhardwaj, and Vishal Thakur. Hailing from Agra, Etawah, and Haryana, they join Deepak Kumar Sharma, allegedly the main shooter.

All numbers mentioned above remain unconfirmed. According to the police, the alleged accused keep altering their statements, causing delays.

The Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), a stringent law, was activated for the case. Raising questions about the safety of celebrities and public figures, this incident is highly concerning. The firing outside Rohit Shetty’s residence is hardly the first such case. Previously, there was a shooting outside Salman Khan’s house a few years ago. In another incident, an assailant stabbed Saif Ali Khan in 2025.
