German authorities are reportedly investigating the matter where a robot harassed a minor girl.
In a shocking news story today, a robot reportedly harassed a 16-year-old girl in Cologne, Germany. The robot was said to have been controlled by two young men, who allegedly filmed this disgusting incident. Police reportedly revealed that the emergency teams dispatched near the fast food restaurant area, where this incident happened, discovered the robot in the trunk of a vehicle. Robot Harasses Minor Girl
According to the reports, authorities revealed that the robot, which was allegedly controlled by two male teenagers, touched the buttocks of the minor girl and made thrusting movements at her. The incident happened overnight, from Saturday to Sunday during which the 16-year-old owner of the robot and his 19-year-old companion streamed the alleged incident and made commentary on it online. Christoph Bermel, Cologne police’s spokesperson, reportedly said that the two male teenagers have not been charged but are being considered suspects. Additionally, investigators were said to be examining whether the robots’ movements were controlled in real time or were pre-programmed. Police have confiscated the suspects’ mobile phones and the robot.

The reported videos that surfaced on social media showed two suspects escorting the robot toward a group of women, where it bumped into one woman and hugged others. After it made inappropriate gestures, one of the men repeatedly shouted at the robot and pulled it backwards, which prompted laughter among the people present there. As far as the details about the robot go, it is about 3 ft 11 inches tall and was dressed in a white tank top, sweatpants and a gold chain as well as sunglasses. Additionally, it had what seemed like a fake moustache.
This incident is beyond disturbing. Women are already under threat from men who casually harass us, even in broad daylight. Now, it seems that the technology controlled by humans is being used to do the same. Is this what we are advancing technology for?
