RIIZE’s Shotaro Addresses Relationship Heresay With Aespa’s Giselle
On January 29 (KST), Shotaro was hanging out with fans on a casual Weverse live when he came across an odd comment asking him if he had dated Giselle. Instead of beating around the bush, he spoke candidly. The RIIZE member clarified that they didn’t “have that kind of relationship at all.” He spoke of the Aespa idol fondly, calling her “a close friend” who happened to be his “senior in the same company” (in Korean, sunbae).
Fans complimented Shotaro’s reaction to the rumours. While a clarification shouldn’t be needed, some said, his direct approach worked well in shutting down gossipmongers. Netizens began speculating a relationship between the 25-year-old male idol and Giselle after the pair was allegedly spotted together on a video call.
What Has RIIZE Been Up To Lately?
Following the release of their 2025 studio album, ‘Odyssey’, Shotaro and his members have embarked on a world tour, titled RIIZING LOUD. The group performed hits such as ‘Love 119’ and ‘Get A Guitar’ in cities across the United States, Mexico, China, Japan, and more. RIIZE’s last concert took place in Singapore on January 24. The tour will take the K-pop group to Macau next. Concluding with a series of concerts in Tokyo and Seoul, March 8, 2026, is the last date of the RIIZING LOUD tour.
Apart from being in the same company, RIIZE’s Shotaro and Aespa’s Giselle are both Japanese 25-year-olds living in a foreign country.
