Revenged Love Actor ZiYu Falls Victim To AI-Generated Content
A few days ago, a clip of Revenged Love actor ZiYu went viral on Chinese social media, where he appears to trash-talk his fans and the concept of Couple Pairing (CP) in the entertainment industry. The now deleted post claimed to be of ZiYu saying that he does not want to interact with CP fans and discussed so-called “CP selling.”
Couple pairing is a rising trend in Asian entertainment industries where fictional characters or actors are paired together and star as romantic leads in multiple shows or films, and attend events together. Some couple pairings are incredibly popular in China. ZiYu and his Revenged Love co-star Tian Xu Ning also became a famous pair after the hit show finished airing, drawing a massive fanbase.
The clip naturally exploded everywhere with netizens criticising Revenged Love’s ZiYu; however, it was later revealed that the audio was fake. The original poster of the clip deleted it suddenly and admitted that they had used AI tools to generate the audio “recording”. They emphasised multiple times that ZiYu’s audio was AI-made before deactivating their account.
This incident left fans confused and frustrated, and also caused massive concerns about the misuse of AI. People pointed out how authentic the audio sounded, just like ZiYu’s voice, and most people could never tell the difference.

Revenged Love actor ZiYu’s company has not released a statement on this matter; however, fans urge the company to take strict action against people who do this.
