Life And Career
Revathy hails from Cochin and her real name was Asha Kelunni Nair. She ventured a little into modelling when she was a student studying in Chennai. Soon she cracked the auditions for her first debut film Mann Vasanai, originally in Tamil language and released in 1983. She then went on to do many films in Tamil and Malayalam films such as Kai Kodukkum Kai and Kattathe Kilikkoodu among others.
Hindi Film Career
You surely remember Revathy from 2 States in which she played the mother of Alia Bhatt’s character. However, the actress has played memorable roles in other films too like Jackpot and Margarita With Her Straw.

Awards
The actress has been acknowledged for her onscreen performances many times. Her first Best Actress award was for one of her Malayalam films. She went on to earn many best actress awards for Tamil films. Revathy also won a National award for best supporting actress in the 1992 Tamil film Thevar Magan.

Revathy has many other talents that one might not be aware of. She is a professional Bharatnatyam dancer and has also performed on the stage many times, especially during her teenage days. She has also been a part of film festivals in which the actress got the opportunity to impart her knowledge as an actor for the betterment of cinema.

Well, another hidden talent of the actress is that she has directed feature films too. Her two directed films were Phir Milenge and Mitr (Friend). She was also a part of the many directors who directed the anthology Kerala Cafe.
