On November 13, Disney+ released the lineup of its upcoming K-dramas. The Remarried Empress is one of the most anticipated dramas to release next year. The K-drama is based on a Korean comic, also known as a widely popular manhwa.

The show also made waves for casting some of the industry’s top actors, like Lee Jong Suk and Shin Min Ah. Now, first glimpses of the show have sparked a heated discussion. Most fans of the comic loved the casting and the outfit for the characters, praising their striking visuals and apt costumes; however, some netizens are divided.

Despite the stunning visuals, some people complained that instead of being set in a Western background, the show should have been based on a Sageuk concept (historical Korean drama setting).
