Rashmika Mandanna’s Mangalsutra
The Girlfriend star did not opt for a very fancy or diamond-studded mangalsutra, instead it was more rooted in the culture. The mangalsutra was made entirely out of gold. As per an exclusive report by NDTV, the mangalsutra designed by SHREE Jewellers was made just of gold, and no diamond or other gemstones were used in it. The idea behind this was to not have any sparkle but allow it to be a symbol of tradition and sanctity. As per the report, there is also a motif of Goddess Lakshmi that symbolises prosperity and grace. The motif is surrounded by intricate serpent detailing which defines protection and guardianship, as per the makers. The magalsutra is also is a symbol of the Telugu and Kodava traditions. The twin lockets are symbol of the Telugu heritage, and it stands for forever, while there is crescent moon-shaped motif, known as kokkethathi which represents the Kodava traditions. A layer was also to add a modern charm to the magalstura, and make it a symbol for the groom’s nickname ‘Rowdy’.
So thoughtful but the interesting part here is that the final mangalsutra design was keep a secren from Vijay Deverakonda, and it was a surprise for him on the wedding day, as per the reports.
