Rashmika Mandanna Defends Animal Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga: “He Should Be Protected”

Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Animal was a huge success at the box office. However, the film’s director Sandeep Reddy Vanga faced a lot of criticism for heavily portraying misogynistic values in the film. In a recent interview, the film’s lead actor Rashmika came out to defend Vanga and praises his unmatched skills as a director. She also stated that Sandeep Reddy Vanga should be protected at all costs.

What Did Rashmika Mandanna Say?
The Animal star Rashmika Mandanna shared her opinion on Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ways of working and how misunderstood the director is. During an interview with Pinkvilla, Rashmika said she has always been in awe of Vanga and wonders how he thinks, works and eats. Rashmika further spoke about Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s plan for Animal Park, which will be a sequel. She revealed that the director is going to explore more in the second film and ‘have a blast.’ Rashmika Mandanna also revealed that Sandeep Reddy Vanga loves and enjoys making films. She further said the director should be protected at all costs. She also stated that Sandeep Reddy Vanga is not a person who changes to suit other people’s perceptions and tells the story the way he wants to.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga also addressed the controversy around his films and the misogyny they promote. During his interview, the director slammed the people who criticised his films for being misogynistic. Vanga also called the critics ‘illiterate’. The director has also been very clear about his opinions on portraying love and romance in films and he has portrayed it through films like Animal and Kabir Singh.
Animal hit the theatres on December 1 and was highly praised for a memorable performance by Ranbir Kapoor.
