Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar 2 is ruling at the box office. But it isn’t just the storyline and the acting that have amounted to its perfection. The costume department has equally played a key role as the film takes us through different eras. While talking about the same, we can’t help but be reminded of a particular striped T-shirt that Ranveer’s character Jaskirat wore during an early fight scene. It may seem like a simple choice; however, a lot of thinking and precision have gone into choosing the same for that sequence. Know all about it below!
Why Was A Striped T-shirt Chosen For Jaskirat During The Fight Scene
Just to remind you of the scene, in Dhurandhar 2 Ranveer Singh’s Jaskirat goes on a mission to rescue his sister and fights off the bad guys wearing a striped t-shirt. While talking about this choice, costume designer Smriti Chauhan told NDTV that keeping the 2000s era in mind, they gave him a basic stripe T-shirt, which was prevalent at the time. She further mentioned that since Jaskirat hails from Pathankot, adding, “There is a subtle small-town vibe to him,” while keeping this in mind they did not forget that he had done his studies and had already undergone training. She added that Jaskirat had met different people and acquired some taste. The costume designer further mentioned that that this was going to be a long-acting sequence, so they had to make sure that his outfit was comfortable and functional, as it involved jumping, rolling, fighting, and shooting.

Cargo Pants Were Chosen For THIS Reason
Further, Smirti Chauhan revealed that they chose cargo trousers because they were comfortable and also because they have pockets, adding that if Jaskirat wanted to store more ammunition, they needed to show more pockets. Further, she recalled Dhurandhar 2’s director, Aditya Dhar, telling them to give him army boots that are utilised during the training phase. But since the original boots used for training were heavy, she decided to go with the ones that resembled them but were also comfortable, which allowed Ranveer Singh to comfortably perform action sequences.
