Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar
Many fans believe the film would be a biopic of Ajit Doval, who is known for his secret intelligence operations and the planning of the 2016 surgical strikes. R Madhavan appears to play Doval in the film, while Ranveer Singh’s drastic makeover in the teaser has sparked speculation that he is playing a younger version of the NSA. However, the creators have kept the specifics under wraps, with no official confirmation.
Adding to the buzz, reports and social media chatter hint that Ranveer Singh could be stepping into the role of Major Mohit Sharma, a decorated Para Special Forces officer. According to Zee News, Sharma had conducted covert missions in Pakistan under the alias “Iqbal,” successfully infiltrating terror groups. He was posthumously honoured with the Ashoka Chakra, India’s highest peacetime gallantry award, after being killed in action in 2009 during an encounter in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir.
While early buzz suggested that Dhurandhar might be set in the 1980s or 1990s, sharp-eyed viewers noticed details like smartphones, earphones, and political cues in the teaser, hinting at a mid-2000s backdrop instead. The rock-infused score and adrenaline-fueled visuals further reinforce the film’s contemporary vibe.
