Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2, featuring Ranveer Singh, is one of the much-anticipated films of 2026. And while Akshaye Khanna is confirmed for a return through flashback sequences, new reports reveal that even Vicky Kaushal will also be joining the star-studded casr including R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun. Many say that this will significantly expand the film’s universe.

This alleged cameo of Vicky Kaushal in Dhurandhar 2 has gained much hype since he is said to reprise his iconic role of Major Vihaan Shergill from Dhar’s Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019). A source told Mid-Day, “The director, who plans to build the Dhurandhar universe, has smartly woven in a track from Uri despite the difference in the two stories’ timelines. Vicky’s character from the war drama, which is set in 2016, is introduced in this film, although it remains unclear whether he and Ranveer’s character cross paths.” They also revealed that the reported cameo will include action blocks as well.
The source revealed that Kaushal had already filmed his portion of the film last year, even before Dhurandhar had hit the theatres. They said that he was one of Aditya Dhar’s favourite actors and that he was happy that this laid the foundation for a spin-off in the future. This inspires anticipation that Major Vihaan Shergill’s reappearance will be more than just a quick appearance and may lead to a major storyline in the future.
