The fans were truly disappointed to find out that Ranveer Singh exited Don 3. However, many were shocked when the reports emerged that he was asked to pay Rs. 40 crores compensation by Farhan Akhtar and Excel Entertainment for walking out of the project. Amid this, the buzz that Shah Rukh Khan, OG Don franchise star, was offered the said role took over the internet. This turned out to be one of the things that the Padmavat actor brought up while making a point that he was not liable to fulfil this demand. Read on to know what he said.

Ranveer Singh Counters Rs. 40 Crore Compensation Demand

Ranveer Singh reportedly made clear points as to why he wasn’t liable to pay compensation for exiting Don 3 during his meeting with Farhan Akhtar and Excel Entertainment, mediated by the Producers Guild of India (PIG). As per Bollywood Hungama, the actor felt that he shouldn’t pay the said amount as he didn’t take any money from the producers. A source stated that Ranveer pointed out he was to work on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra. He prepared for the role for almost a year and during the process, he turned down several films. However, the project was shelved and the director started working on Love and War. He reportedly stated that he wasn’t compensated for the year he dedicated to that role. He also argued that this is how the business is; at times, certain projects don’t see the light of day or are relegated to the back burner for multiple reasons and no one gets compensated for it.
