When people reminisce about Imtiaz Ali’s movie Rockstar they instantly get transported back to the magical world of Heer, Jordan and their intense love story and of course AR Rahman’s music. The movie has reached a cult status today and was also re-released in theatres recently due to public demand. But a recent BTS video from the movie has left people laughing and rolling on the floor, which features Ranbir Kapoor singing the iconic song, Jo Bhi Mai in his voice, and people have compared his singing with Doraemon’s Giaan.
There is no doubt that Ranbir Kapoor is one of the best actors the country has seen in recent times, with blockbuster hits like Wake Up Sid, Animal, and Tamasha to his name, but singing is definitely not his forte. In the newly shared BTS video of Rockstar on Reddit, people are hilariously amused by Ranbir Kapoor’s singing. Reddit users were quick to point out the similarities between his singing and Giaan’s singing. Here’s what some of the comments on the post read,

One user said, “Ab patha chala Nadaan parinda kyun Ghar nahi aa raha tha.” While another said, “Imtiaz patiently waiting for the take to be over.” And that’s not all, one user was upset about hearing it in the morning, “Ye kya sunn liya subah.”
Other users were astonished by the huge difference between his acting capabilities and singing capabilities. One more user pointed out that, there was an old interview back in the early 2010s where Rishi Kapoor was seen advising Ranbir Kapoor to sing to make the lip-syncing look natural. He also mentioned that Rishi Kapoor himself used to sing and then apologize to his costars for the bad singing they had to listen to.

While other Reddit users praised Ranbir Kapoor’s effort to make his lip syncing look real, as one commented, “No wonder Ranbir’s lipsync looks perfect on screen.” The user further revealed how amazed he was when he saw bulleya clip for the first time and it felt like Ranbir was actually singing the song.
