Ranbir Kapoor To Reportedly Revive RK Studios, Launched By Raj Kapoor

According to a report by Mid Day Ranbir Kapoor is currently in the process of developing various scripts, with discussions already in full swing with the biggest names in the Bollywood industry ahead of RK Studios’ revival. Names such as Deepika Padukone and Ayan Mukerji are being considered for an upcoming project, suggesting a powerhouse collaboration and marking a whole new era for the RK brand.

The plans for the revival of RK Studios reportedly include expanding the infrastructure, from office spaces to a screening room, to create a hub of creativity in Mumbai. All this is believed to reflect the late Rishi Kapoor’s dream of restoring his family’s legacy in the film industry.

About RK Studios

Launched in 1948 by Raj Kapoor, RK Studios was once synonymous with landmark films like Awaara, Barsaat, Bobby, and Ram Teri Ganga Maili upon its founding in 1948. However, the iconic Chembur property was eventually sold following a major fire in 2017 and shifting production patterns in the city.

With Ranbir Kapoor now taking the reins, if all goes according to plan, the first slate under the restored studio will feature Ranbir’s directorial debut-a return that is, quite literally, a rebirth of one of Hindi cinema’s most celebrated legacies.
