Actor Ram Kapoor has been dropped from the promotions of his upcoming series Mistry on JioHotstar featuring Mona Singh. This decision has been taken by the makers after the actor made several s*xual and uncomfortable remarks during the promotional interviews for the show. There were official complaints against him for creating an uncomfortable environment during the promotions, and therefore, from hereon, Mona Singh would be seen in the promotional activities.
What Happened?
There was a series of events that happened on the day of back-to-back interviews for JioHotstar’s Mistry. According to a report by Midday, a source claimed that that Ram Kapoor had many interviews for the show and he described the work pressure as a feeling ‘gang raped’. He made this statement while a journalist was getting mic’d for her interview. Furthermore, the sources said that throughout the actor continued to make comments that left the crew feeling uncomfortable. Ram Kapoor also remarked about a woman’s dress and said that it was distracting, as per the news reports.
According to the report, the actor also commented on someone’s mother and said that she should have made an excuse about having a headache so the person wouldn’t have been born. Reportedly, the actor also made comments about s*x positions.

A formal complaint was also made against the actor, and the internal team sat with HR to discuss the issue. The decision to remove Ram Kapoor from the promotions was then taken. The makers strive to make the workplace safe and comfortable, and dignified; therefore, the decision was made without any delays.

The Mona Singh starrer Mistry will be released on June 27, 2025.
