SS Rajamouli found himself in a major controversy after a recent event during which he revealed that he was an atheist. Not just that, the filmmaker also reportedly expressed his disappointment with Lord Hanuman when he experienced technical glitches during the event. In a country like India, these kinds of opinions do not sit well with people and as a result an FIR was filed against SS Rajamouli. Now defending him, Ram Gopal Verma shared his honest thoughts on the situation while calling out people who hated on Bahubali director.

Ram Gopal Verma Defends SS Rajamouli

After this controversy took over everyone’s social media feeds, Ram Gopal Verma tweeted that being a non-believer in God was not a crime as per Article 23 of the Indian Constitution. The filmmaker stated that SS Rajamouli had every right to say that he is an atheist. When Rajamouli revealed that he was a non-believer, people questioned why he showed gods majorly in his films. Responding to this RGV simply asked that by this logic, should a filmmaker become a gangster to make a film on them or should they become a ghost to make a paranormal movie?

The Satya filmmaker stated that despite Rajamouli being an atheist, god made him more successful and wealthy than most believers. He speculated in his tweet that either God loves non-believers more, “doesn’t care” or God isn’t taking notes on who is an atheist and who isn’t. RGV added that if God doesn’t have any problem with Rajamouli, why are “self-appointed god mongers” getting affected by this?

Further in the tweet, RGV shared that the real problem here is that the RRR directed is successful and has scared people who have failed even after madly praying. He added that people should stop defending God because it’s “insulting.” RGV also said that Rajamouli’s atheism does not reduce God but elevates the insecurities of people who think that faith will collapse when someone becomes a non-believer. He asked people to relax as both Rajamouli and God were “fine” and pointed out that people who cannot understand either of them are the only ones suffering. The Rangeela director wrote that through Rajamouli’s next project titled Varanasi, God will add more fortune to his overflown bank balance while the losers can weep their hearts out with jealousy. RGV concluded his tweet by penning that it’s just “plain  JEALOUSY masquerading as BELIEF IN GOD..Jai Hanuman.”
